Planning Your Visit
The Valiant Soldier Museum and Heritage Centre opened on 30th March 2022. During the time it was closed for the winter months the valiant volunteers have kept working in the background, maintaining the building and planning interesting exhibitions for you to see.
The entry fee is £5 per adult, but entrance is free for children under 16 and disabled people. For seniors and students entry is £4.50 per person.
The Valiant Soldier Museum and Heritage Centre is now open on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays from 11.00am to 4pm also we will open on Sunday afternoons from 24 July to 4 September from 2pm to 4pm (last entry 3.30pm) until the end of October. Although the museum is run by a team of dedicated volunteers; from time to time the opening hours may have to be altered.
Those with disabilities are welcome but there is limited access, however there is a virtual tour on the ground floor that can be enjoyed. We regret no dogs are allowed.
Enjoy wandering around the old pub (no longer serving alcohol) and see the interesting paraphernalia from the mid 50’s 60’s. Visit our fascinating exhibition about Buckfastleigh’s history of health and medicine.

Where Are We?
The Valiant Soldier is easy to find at the bottom of Buckfastleigh’s main street. Look out for the brown signs just off the A38 Devon Expressway. We are 10 minutes walk from South Devon Railway.
